JA 1 - Noun/Verb Test Study Guide

Nouns - These are the nouns that will be used on the Test on Saturday

Verbs - These are the verbs and conjugations that will be on the test.

Subject Object Verb - how to write Japanese sentences.


Test will be available on 1/18 (SAT). The Test will close on 1/20 (MON).

Remember: 
  • Verbs いく、くる、and  かえる will always be preceded by the particles へ or に or から.
  • Other Verbs such as: みる、かう、きく、たべる、のむ、する、よむ、はなす、and  かくwill usually be preceded by the particles を、or  で.
  • When the subject is not stated, it will usually be わたし "I". The particle following this subject is usually は "wa" or が "ga".

Sample Sentences: 

Present Positive sentence

わたし にほん いきます。
Watashi-wa Nihon-e ikimasu.

I am going to Japan. 

Present Negative sentence

わたし にほん きません。
Watashi-wa Nihon-ni kimasen

I am not coming to Japan

Past Present sentence

わたし すし たべました。
Watashi-wa sushi-wo tabemashita.

I ate sushi.

Past Negative sentence

わたし べんきょう しませんでした。
Watashit-wa benkyou-wo   shimasendeshita.

I did not study.
